Educational Workshops to Enhance Tax Awareness Among Higher Education Students

In a step to enhance financial and tax culture among Omani youth, the Department of Tax in Al Batinah North Governorate organized a series of educational workshops targeting students of Sohar University and Al Buraimi University College. The workshops included a detailed explanation of the tax system in the Sultanate of Oman, with a focus on registration mechanisms, types of taxes, their rates, and the procedures for filing tax returns. The importance of tax compliance and its pivotal role in supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development was also highlighted.

Mr. Ahmed bin Musabh Al Badi, Director of Department of Tax in Al Batinah North Governorate, said: "This initiative aims to empower young people to understand their role as partners in building the national economy and to inform them of their tax rights and obligations. We are confident that this knowledge will contribute to building an aware generation capable of contributing to achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040."

For their part, the participating students expressed their gratitude to the Tax Authority for this initiative, emphasizing the importance of the information they received in their future careers.
