A Seminar on Tax Awareness for Women Entrepreneurs in Rustaq

As part of the Tax Authority’s ongoing efforts to build bridges of communication with the local community and simplify financial and legal concepts, the Tax Authority Department in Al Batinah South Governorate organized an awareness seminar titled "Enhancing Tax Awareness for Women Entrepreneurs" held at the Omani Women’s Association headquarters.
The seminar was presented by Payment Analyst Nihal Al Qarni and Rahil Al Farsi. The session highlighted the rights and obligations that ensure women entrepreneurs' tax compliance, thereby supporting the growth and stability of their business ventures.
Furthermore, the seminar detailed the mechanisms for calculating Income Tax and the categories subject to it, as well as how to manage Value Added Tax (VAT) in commercial activities to ensure the accuracy of accounting records. The seminar also addressed Excise Tax, the excise goods, and the health and economic dimensions that the Sultanate of Oman aims to achieve through its implementation.
The seminar concluded by emphasizing the importance of transparency in submitting accurate tax data, noting that it is not merely a legal obligation, but a national responsibility that ensures an equal opportunity for everyone in the Omani market.
