The Tax Authority Launches 'Awareness and Trust' Campaign in Collaboration with SME Development Authority and MOCIIP to foster Voluntary Tax Compliance

The Tax Authority, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEs) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP), is organizing an intensive two-week awareness campaign under the slogan 'Awareness and Trust' at the headquarters of both entities.

This campaign comes as part of the Tax Authority's ongoing efforts to build direct communication channels with the public and raise tax awareness among taxpayers, specifically visitors of the customer services halls of both entities in order to provide them with direct support and facilitate reaching to the accurate tax information.

The campaign aims to achieve a set of strategic objectives, such as: promoting a culture of tax compliance, empowering taxpayers with knowledge of tax laws and regulations, and establishing the principle of voluntary compliance among them.

The campaign seeks to provide an interactive platform to offer immediate answers to customers' inquiries and overcome any challenges they may face when dealing with tax systems. This is achieved by introducing them to the latest digital solutions and e-services provided by the Tax Authority, demonstrating how to utilize them to complete transactions easily and efficiently. Furthermore, the campaign works to consolidate the collaborative relationship between the Tax Authority and the community, to ensure transparency and clarity in all transactions.

It is worth noting that specialized working teams from the Tax Authority will be available during official working hours in the customer services halls. Dedicated awareness points will be set up to provide technical and operational explanations clarifying the rights and obligations of taxpayers, thereby contributing to foster a stable business environment that stimulates economic growth in the Sultanate of Oman.
