Oman Tax Authority held a workshop showcasing the regulatory tools and legal concepts to protect public funds

The Tax Authority, in collaboration with the State Audit Institution, organized a workshop titled "Safeguarding Public Funds and Avoiding Conflicts of Interest." The workshop was attended by a number of directors-general and employees from both institutions.

The workshop featured two presentations. The first provided an overview of the audit institution, its organizational structure, independence, and the oversight mechanisms employed to achieve its objectives of promoting integrity and protecting public funds. The second presentation delved into the legal concepts associated with safeguarding public funds, the prohibitions and obligations incumbent upon government officials, and practical examples of violations of public funds law and methods to avoid conflicts of interest. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on the topics discussed.

This workshop is part of both institutions' ongoing efforts to combat corruption and curb negative practices.
