The Tax Authority and Oman Telecommunications Company - Omantel - Support the Digital Transformation by Using the E-Invoicing System

The Tax Authority in the Sultanate of Oman takes a serious step toward digital tax transformation by signing the E-Invoicing Agreement. The agreement was signed today in the headquarters of the Tax Authority in Muscat between the Tax Authority and Oman Telecommunications Company - Omantel- to implement an advanced e-invoicing system. This initiative represents a pivotal step in the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to modernize the tax framework, enhance its efficiency, and keep pace with global trends toward comprehensive digitization.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Tax Authority by H.E. Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, and on behalf of Oman Telecommunications Company – Omantel – by Eng. Sami bin Ahmed Al-Ghassani, Chief Technology Officer.
This step is considered a qualitative leap in the path of digital transformation and governance practices for the tax sector, as the e- invoicing platform constitutes an integrated system, enhances operational efficiency, improves the levels of tax systems, and raises the effectiveness of public revenues. It is worth mentioning that this partnership consolidates the national objectives of the Sultanate of Oman for institutional and digital transformation, which makes our country among the highest ranked countries in the World Governance Index in the coming years.
