The Commencement of Tax Culture Initiative

The "Tax Culture" initiative will be launched in Dhofar Governorate , starting from today. It is organized by the Tax Authority in cooperation with several government and private bodies. This initiative comes as part of the Tax Authority’s continuous efforts to enhance tax awareness and improve the investment environment in the Sultanate of Oman. 

The tax Authority is implementing this initiative in order to spread awareness among citizens and residents about the tax system, clarify the mechanism of registration in tax and how to pay it, as well as to increase tax compliance, and enhance transparency and justice. 

The initiative includes a number of events such as providing corners for the Tax Authority in some government and private bodies in Dhofar Governorate to provide consulting services and the necessary advice to citizens and entrepreneurs. Also, organizing educational workshops and lectures to introduce tax laws and legislations, and a number of field visits to institutions to increase tax compliance. 

Awareness campaigns have been launched via various social media platforms to enhance tax awareness among the public. 

After the completion of the first phase of the initiative in Dhofar Governorate, the initiative will be implemented in the rest of the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, as it comes as a crucial step in achieving economic sustainability and enhancing confidence in the fair and transparent tax system in the Sultanate of Oman.
